The Nigeria Maritime Univeristy

as part of the nations efforts towards upgrading and and maintaining an international standard in the maritime industry of Nigeria, doubled with the understanding that the maritime sector has a major role in moving driving the nations economy with an accelerated speed to the needed height. To this end it has become needful that the nation trains up young minds who will be able to capably man the maritime sector.

The Nigeria Maritime Univeristy

As response to the above mentioned needs, The Nigerian Maritime University (NMU) was established. The Nigeria Maritime Univeristy which is located at Okerenkoko with its takeoff campus at Kurutie Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State is established under the  ownership of the Federal Government of Nigeria. The university has been granted full approval by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence undergraduate degree programmes.

The approval was with effect from the 2017/2018 academic session.

In a statement released by NUC , the commission said that they have officially approved that The National Maritime University Okerenkoko, Delta State should commence undergraduate academic activities in Transport, Engineering and Environmental Management faculties.

The Nigerian Maritime University Courses and Admission Requirements

Officially Nigerian Maritime University following the approval if the NUC  offers 13 courses for now and the courses are listed below:

The Nigeria Maritime Univeristy

This faculty has four departments that include:

1.Nautical Science

2.Transport Logistics Management

3.Marine Economics and Finance

4.Port Management

B.Sc. Nautical Science requirements

Applicants are expected ro have Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry  Biology and Geography

JAMB Subject Combination:

English Language,  and three of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology

B.Sc. Transport logistics Management, B.Sc. Marine Economics and Finance, and B.Sc. Port Management requirements:

All candidates are expected to have  Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one other social science subject

JAMB Subject:

English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one other social science subject.

The Faculty of Engineering

It has five departments which are:

1.Marine Engineering

2.Civil Engineering

3.Electrical Engineering

4.Mechanical Engineering

5.Petroleum and Gas Engineering

Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics Chemistry and Biology are required from candidates who may wish to apply for any of the courses.

JAMB subject:

English Language, Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Biology

The Faculty of Environmental Management

The faculty  has four departments which are:

1.Environmental Management and Pollution

2.Meteorology and Climate Change

3.Fisheries and Aquaculture

4.Marine Geology

B.Sc. Environmental Management and Pollution Control, B.Sc. Meteorology and Climate Change requirements

Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other social science subjects or one social science subject and any other subject are expected from applicants who may wish to apply for the course.

JAMB subject:

English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other social science subject

B.Sc. Fisheries and Aquaculture, B.Sc Marine Geology requirements

All applicants who may wish to apply for the course are expected to have atleast Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science and Physics/Economics/Geography

JAMB Subject:

English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Mathematics/Physics

The Nigerian Maritime University School Fees

Below is an overview of the NMU school fees.

Note that these fees are subject to change.

1.Fresh students: School fee is N51,500, accomodation (N90,000), hostel maintenance (N20,000)

2.Returning students: School fee is N40,500, accomodation (N90,000), hostel maintenance (N20,000)

The Nigerian Army University | Detailed Free

As part of the efforts of the leaders of the country to tackle the rising tide of insurgency and terrorism in the country,  the federal government of Nigeria have in her understanding and wisdom, established  The Nigerian Army University. The Nigeria army university is located at  Biu, Borno state. The choice of Borno state as the location of the university may be due to the increasing rate at which the Book haram terror group has attacked the state in the recent past. The university is located in the heart of the Northeast, Nigeria.

The Nigeria Army university is the newest university established in the country, with the sole aim of providing the Nigerian military with needed manpower to man the various technical units of the military.
